Vayikra: Leviticus 1:1-5:26

This weeks episode begins in the book of Leviticus as we discuss various sacrifices being done by the priest on the behalf of the people. Some very interesting things pop out as we delve into the first parashah of this book. One thing that really stands out is how YHVH identifies with us as a people, and how when we do wrong by them, He has also been wronged, in fact, He has been wronged first. Join me in this segment as we take a closer look at this text. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy...

Vayakhel/Pekudei: Exodus 35:1-40:38

This week, we finally complete the book of Exodus. With two books down, we have 3 more to go and things are heating up. As we close out Exodus, Moses and the children of Israel finally complete the Tabernacle, and all of its utensils, the Ark of the Covenant, and the priestly garments for Aaron and his sons. Having completed everything down to the last detail, the glory of YHVH begins to rest upon the Tabernacle, showing His approval for the finished work. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy...

Ki Tisa: Exodus 30:11-34:35

In this weeks parashah, we get into Moses' incredible relationship with YHVH, and how he was permitted to actually see the back of YHVH as He passed by him. We discuss what it was that made Moses such an amazing leader, in that regardless how much they attacked him in the heard times, he continued to stand by them, even to the point he was willing to have his name erased from the Book of Life along with the people. we also discuss Aaron, and the pressure he faced when while being alone with the ...

Tetzaveh: Exodus 27:20-30:10

In this weeks Parashah, we get into the instructions Moses received from YHVH for making the priestly garments that Aaron and his sons are to wear when going into the Tent of Meeting to perform Temple duties. These garments were to be set apart from their normal attire, and used only for ministerial purposes. As we take a closer look into this, we find that YHVH actually is concerned with how we present ourselves before Him. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information. Send us ...

Learning To See God

This is a re-recorded version of a teaching I recently did at church. This version differs from the original recording in that this version goes more into the things I had studied in preparation for service. The overall focus is to understand that we are nothing in the presence of YHVH, and that the moment we understand this, YHVH becomes even bigger than we ever imagined, and once this is realized, the way we see Him changes everything about us, causing us to be fit for His call. Terumah: Exodus 25:1-27:19

In this weeks parashah, Moses receives instructions from YHVH on erecting the Temple, the Ark, all of the necessary utensils, and the coverings. Moses is given very specific details, covering even the most minute details as it relates to this task. Upon receiving all of the instructions, Moses flawlessly gave these details to all those involved with this project. We take a look into how in depth these details were that Moses had been given and how miraculous it was for him to remember it all wit...

Mishpatim: Exodus 21:1-24:18

In this weeks Parashah, we take a look at a handful of principles given to Moses from YHVH. Although it is only a small number of things touched on, in them we can see a few the beginning of what should rightfully be termed as the "Kingdom Mentality". YHVH makes it clear to Moses the the keeping of these "teachings" are the basis of this "covenant relationship" He is establishing with the people. The people, fully understanding that the only way for them to be His people, and Him their God is to...

Yitro: Exodus 18:1-20:23

In this weeks Parashah, we take another look at the humbleness of Moses as a leader. As Yitro (Jethro), his father-in-law checks him on the way he handles judging the people, rather than being prideful and taking offense, he listens to the voice of wise council and implements it into the way he does business in the future. We also get into the establishing of the marriage covenant between YHVH and Israel. As Moses takes word back to the people, understanding a choice needed to be made, the happi...

Knowing God Vs Knowing of God

This episode is a re-recording of a message I did at church yesterday. In this episode, we get into the interesting topic of "knowing" God verses "knowing of" God. With so many people claiming to know God today, I just felt the urge to take a deeper look into what it actually looks like to know Him. Taking inspiration from the Gospel of Matthew, we find a parable told by our Lord about people who clearly assumed they knew Him, only to find out to late that they really didn't. Join us we get into...

Beshalach: Exodus 13:17-17:16

In this parashah, we discuss the trials Moses had to deal with as a representative of YHVH for the people of Israel. Although he was simply the messenger, any little thing that happened became Moses' fault. We discuss lessons learned about leadership from Moses' perspective. We also get into the story of Amalek, and why YHVH wanted his lime blotted from the earth. In this parashah, we read about the Sabbath for the first time since creation, and learn that contrary to popular belief, it isn't a ...

In this episode, we get together for an unscripted Table Talk session, where we just discuss random topics from the heart. while reading this weeks Torah Portion, something stuck out to me that I hadn't really noticed before. Parashah Bo: Exodus 10:1-13:16

In this weeks Parashah, we continue with Moses standing before Pharaoh. Eight plagues in, Pharaoh's heart is still hard, and he refuses to recognize Yehovah as God. We take a brief look at what it may have been about Pharaoh that made him so arrogant towards Yehovah, despite the terrible plagues he was forced to deal with. Back to the Basics

This is a re-recorded message I recently taught in church. The question is asked, what dies it look like, getting back to the basics. It is a call for the church to come back to a place where our focus was not so much on the four walls of our church, but on ministry opportunities, which are basically positions we find ourselves where an opportunity to share the gospel arises. It is time for us as the church to begin to resemble that of the church the Apostles had built, on the revelation that Ye...

Vaera: Gen 6:2-9:35

In this weeks Parashah, we get into the showdown between YHVH and Pharaoh. As Moshe and Aharon stand before Pharaoh as ambassadors of the one true God, Pharaoh is determined to stand his ground no matter what. Plague after plague, YHVH consistently shows Himself as God as He renders the various god's of Egypt powerless to stand before Him. As we look into these various plagues, we can only come to the conclusion that the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is the one true God, as He begins to do une...

Vayeshev: Genesis 37:1-40:23

In this weeks parashah, we get into the exploits of Joseph. Joseph is a type of Messiah, in the sense that not only is he rejected by his brothers and cast away, but that he comes back as a vessel of salvation for the whole house of Israel as well as the rest of the world. The process of becoming great was not an overnight one, in fact, it takes him in the opposite direction, but it is his right attitude and ability to trust God even in adversity that ultimately thrusts him into greatness.
